TOSHIBA'S INOLVEMENT IN ARA
Today we hosted Toshiba's team working on Project Ara. Toshiba is working with Google on providing semiconductors, bridge chips, and reference modules for the Ara phone. Toshiba is excited about being involved with Ara, because it gives them the opportunity to align with Toshiba's core competencies while expanding the Mobile world.
Bridge LSIs
Two Bridge LSIs, Application and General Purpose, are being developed for Project Ara. The bridge chips allow each component and module to connect to the rest of the device.
Reference Modules
Toshiba is utilizing the bridge LSIs to provide reference design modules to vendors and individuals making Ara modules. These designs can be used as a starting point for building new modules. Some of these reference modules include a camera and a wifi module.

TOSHIBA & METAMORPH
Today we met with the Toshiba team to collaborate on ways to better model their devices in Metamorphosys components. Over the next several months, we'll be working with them on producing detailed behavioral models for the chips that they're providing to the Ara program.
